We are looking for a highly skilled and proactive Website Developer to join M&J Africa. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing websites for both our internal divisions and clients. This role requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities
● Design, develop, and maintain M&J Africa’s websites and landing pages
● Build and manage websites for clients across different industries
● Ensure websites are mobile responsive, secure, fast, and SEO optimized
● Troubleshoot technical issues, perform regular updates, and manage backups
● Integrate websites with third-party tools (e.g., CRM, payment gateways, chatbots)
● Work with the digital marketing team to implement tracking tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta Pixel)
● Provide technical support to clients post-launch
● Monitor website performance and suggest continuous improvements
● Ensure all websites meet branding, UX/UI, and accessibility standards
● Manage website hosting, domains, and DNS configurations
Qualifications and Experience
● Proven experience as a website developer (portfolio required)
● Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and WordPress (knowledge of other CMSs is a plus)
● Experience with website builders (e.g., Elementor, Webflow, Shopify)
● Understanding of UI/UX design principles
● Ability to work with databases and basic server-side scripting
● Familiarity with SEO, Google Search Console, and website performance tools
● Knowledge of hosting platforms (e.g., cPanel, Cloudflare)
● Basic graphic design skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva is a plus)
● Strong communication and time management skills
Preferred but Not Mandatory:
● Experience with e-commerce platforms
● Knowledge of Odoo website module
● Ability to edit or create explainer videos for web content
● Experience in project management or client liaison
