Job Description

Our client in the FMCG sector seeks to recruit a Warehouse & Distribution Manager who will be reporting to the Finance Executive and will be based in Harare.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties
❖ Overseeing Warehouse and Distribution operations, including the receiving, storage, and distribution of the company products as well as ensuring that all warehouse and distribution processes are running smoothly and efficiently.
❖ Maintaining optimum stock levels in the warehouse by managing the inventory information and reporting on such.
❖ Keeping management informed by providing information on stock levels, receipts, dispatch orders, and outstanding picking lists.
❖ Ensuring orderly stocking of products through space management.
❖ Controlling operational costs for the department by creating the annual budget and ensuring compliance.
❖ Investigating stock variances through organizing and conducting stock takes.
❖ Ensuring that outstanding picking lists are cleared as well as ensuring that in-transit warehouse has no stocks.
❖ Strategizing and implementing the freighting and distribution of finished products in the most cost-effective way by ensuring products are delivered to the right location on time and in their rightful states.
❖ Overseeing the freight and distribution planning by formulating an effective freight and distribution strategy.
❖ Monitoring the effectiveness of freight and distribution through key DPIs.
❖ Managing light motor vehicle maintenance, repairs and servicing to meet expected standards.
❖ Avoiding product expiring by tracking expiry dates and products traceability.
❖ Upskilling team members by performing on the job training.
❖ Ensuring safety by enforcing mechanical handling procedures and maintaining equipment.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications
❖ At least 5 years’ experience in an FMCG environment.
❖ Experience as a Warehouse/ Distribution Manager is an advantage.
❖ A degree in Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or equivalent.
❖ CIPS is an added advantage.
❖ Excellent Leadership, Management, Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills.
❖ Knowledge of SAGE 1000
