Childline is pursuing the engagement of a qualified consultant to lead a comprehensive five-day Drug and substance abuse management-training program for our dedicated staff. This program is strategically designed to enhance the proficiency of Childline's team in addressing for child protection needs, with a specific emphasis on the prevention of drug and substance abuse in children and young individuals. This training initiative aligns seamlessly with our core thematic areas, which include prevention models, building resilience in young people, supporting families affected by DASA, and providing counselling and support to young people who are grappling with drug and substance-related challenges. By enhancing our skills in these critical areas, we aim to further our commitment to safeguarding the well-being of children and youth, ensuring that our efforts remain in line with Childline's project outputs and overarching mission.

Costs and Expenses:
Childline will cover the following costs:
• Consultancy fees
• Venue and catering costs for five days

The consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:
a. Customized Drug and Substance Abuse Training Program: Our objective is to craft a specialized training program focused on drug and substance abuse, meticulously tailored to the local context while harmonizing with Childline's thematic areas and project objectives. This program should be uniquely attuned to the specific challenges and needs within our region, ensuring its effectiveness.
b. Comprehensive MHPSS Coverage: The training must comprehensively address the key aspects of MHPSS related to Drug and Substance Abuse (DASA) and extend its scope to include Mental Health and Psychosocial Support for children and young people.
Deliverables:
I. A detailed training program, training materials, presentations, and handouts.
II. Five -day physical training in Harare, Zimbabwe.
III. Training report
The consultant should possess the following qualifications and experience:
a. At least a Master’s Degree in, Social Sciences or relevant field
b. Demonstrated expertise in psychosocial support training, particularly in the field of Drug and Substance Abuse (DASA)
c. Experience working with organizations in the child protection, youth programming services sector is an advantage.
d. Excellent communication, writing skills and ability to convey technical and complex information in a simple, clear and concise manner for different audience.
All proposals submitted will be assessed against the following:

• Relevant Experience and costing of the assignment.
• Independence of consultancy (consultants are not employed by Childline Zimbabwe or KNH).
