INVITATION TO TENDER
TENDER FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE MUSHROOM HUBS AND A WASTE FOR CASH FACILITY IN THE EPWORTH DISTRICT
The World Vision Food Resources Department, under the Urban Resilience Project of Building Community Assets, is seeking contracted services for builders, building contractors,
and plumbers for the recently started urban project at EPWORTH Local Board. The
organization is undertaking a community project that intends to construct one Waste for Cash facility and eight mushroom hubs. The organization seeks the services of builders and plumbers with the necessary skills to construct the assets to be built in Epworth Wards 1, 2,
4, and 7. World Vision Zimbabwe will provide all the materials required as per the bill of
quantities, and contractors, builders, and plumbers should quote for labor only.
Scope of works:
1. Interpretation of the building plan and setting out of works.
2. Supervise the construction of substructures that the foundation works on.
3. Construction of superstructures and roofing of the assets: mushroom hubs and waste for cash.
4. Plastering, flooring, and other civil works.
5. Construction of toilets and other ablution facilities, including pipeworks, soaker ways,
etc.
6. General management of materials and project management.
7. Coordinate with local authority inspectors and follow their recommendations
according to Epworth local authority construction laws.
Compulsory Site Visit
All interested builders and contractors are requested to come for site visits on Friday, April 19, 2024, at 0930 hrs. at the Epworth Local Board. The contractors and builders are to provide their own means of transport.
Qualifications
The builder should provide the necessary building technical skills and plumbing services in the construction and civil works to be undertaken at the project sites under the supervision of the Epworth Local Board Engineer or Inspectors to conform to the required standards.
The required qualifications, competence, and skills are as below:
1. Certificate in Building and Trade Test Journeyman.
2. Able to interpret the plans and set out the work.
3. Provide the necessary civil and construction works at project sites.
4. Do the plumbing, sewage, and portable water reticulation works at the project site.
5. Construction community toilets, substructures, and superstructures, as well as roofing and plastering works.
6. Follow the building procedures laid out by the local board and ensure all stages of
inspection are done.
7. Complete the project on time and meet all the project expectations.
8. Three years of experience in building and three references should be provided.
9. In addition, the builders or contractors may be registered companies with all necessary certificates of registration, such as certificates of incorporation, CR14, and CR6, and tax clearances. In the event that the applicant is not registered according to the laws of the country, 30% withholding tax may be deducted from the invoice.

NB: Successful contractors and builders should have an active email address for
the online registration process with the World Vision Zimbabwe as a supplier.
Completed bids sealed in an envelope should state the tender reference “Construction
of the mushrooms hubs and waste for cash facility in the Epworth District” and
should be submitted and deposited in the tender box at World Vision Zimbabwe, National Office, No. 59 Joseph Rd., off Nursery Road, Mount Pleasant, Harare.
The closing date for the submission of bids is 1500 hours on Wednesday April 24,
2024.
