Technical Sales Officer

Job Description

We are looking for a Technical Sales Officer who is responsible for the growth of the company’s electrical engineering projects sales and supply business by generating new business opportunities through a focus on new clients and existing opportunities. Position will involve training plus developing skills and gaining an understanding of various electrical engineering (power, automation, solar) application & integration process as well as business development and sales strategies. The role involves significant interaction with clients, which may be face-to-face, video, or over the telephone, travel required.

Duties and Responsibilities

Establish and maintain key customer and partner relations and implement business development strategies for market expansion
Provide application integration and engineering support with the goal of providing the latest technology updates and troubleshooting to meet the customers’ needs
Work with different departments internally and external third parties to identify growth opportunities.
Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting, and compile information and data related to customer and prospect interactions.
Manage a portfolio of accounts, focusing on long-term success and client satisfaction.
Serve as the primary contact for clients, handling requests, issues, and technical questions with a customer-first approach.
Conduct regular check-ins with clients to assess their satisfaction and usage of their product/solution, identifying areas to improve or expand service.

Qualifications and Experience

Proven experience in technical sales or pre-sales roles within the engineering/technology sector..
Excellent communication skills for effective client engagement and product presentations.
Ideal candidate would have worked in either of the following industries: engineering (electrical, solar,automation) services, project management, engineering consultants, construction companies, .
Demonstrated ability to analyze customer needs and provide tailored solutions.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and customer satisfaction.
At least 2 years’ experience in sales / technical sales/ business development role in engineering
Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma or equivalent in Engineering / Business Management / Sales / Marketing or similar
Additional Certifications in Renewable Energy areas will be an added advantage.
A clean class 4 driver’s licence a must
