Job Summary
To assess grant financial performance and provide technical support and institutional strengthening to the grant recipient organisations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Roles and Responsibilities
* Conduct pre-monitoring of sub-grants, leading the process of pre-award assessment, evaluate documents received and coordinate with the Project Officer in identifying risks and development of capacity building plans.
* Ensure timely financial and narrative reporting is completed and submitted by sub-grantees, reviewed, and approved in a timely manner.
* Support the monitoring of the programmatic progress and capacity of sub-grants and subcontracts against the sub-grant agreements and work plans.
* Respond to issues that arise during sub-grants, contracts, disbursements, and any other related issues.
* Conduct supportive site visits to ensure sub-recipients’ compliance with the terms, conditions, and specifications of the sub-award; monitor and manage issues of non-compliance.
* Assess grant financial performance and participate in the overall assessment of projects’ performance.
* Review grantees’ financial reports, including budget/actual variance analyses, and ensure reliability, quality, and relevance of the reported financial information.
* Conduct expenditure verifications monthly.
* Review progress reports submitted by sub-grantees to ensure they adequately contribute to the project’s objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree in Accounting.
* Certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation or Project Management will be an added advantage.
* Strong familiarity with major international donor regulations.
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in sub-granting.
