Job Description

The organization invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the position of Seed Field Agronomist. Reporting to Head Operations, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing seed crop production in an allocated province.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the agronomist shall include but not limited to: -

• Grower recruitment
• Collection of soil samples for soil analysis
• Budgeting and distribution of inputs
• Parent seed program management
• Equipment calibration and timely land preparation & planting of seed crops
• Monitoring of seed planting ratios
• Monitoring weed management
• Providing agronomic support services to contracted growers
• Conducting inspections to manage pest and diseases in the seed crops
• Monitoring and strategizing the detasseling process in seed maize
• Monitoring harvesting and seed deliveries to the factory
• Organizing government inspections
• Collection of seed samples for lab processes
• Monitoring seed storages at farms
• Managing grower relations on behalf of the company

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture/Crop Production/Agronomy/or equivalent.
• At least three (3) years hands on experience in managing seed crops.
