Job Advertisement : Registry and Information Management Intern (2026):
Deadline: 29 June 2026 (1600 hours)
The Law Society of Zimbabwe (LSZ) seeks to engage a Registry and information Management Intern for six(6) months. The Registry Intern will work under the direct supervision of the Registry Officer. The ideal candidate will assist in the daily operations of the registry department, ensuring the accurate, secure, and systematic management of organizational records and information. The Intern will also offer clerical support to the Risk Management Unit.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist with the sorting, indexing, filing, and retrieval of physical documents and electronic records,
• Accurately update and maintain internal database systems and physical registries,
• Opening new member and firm files, cross-referencing and assessing adequacy of documentation in terms of operating practice guidelines;
• Printing, photocopying and sorting all required documentation for all member and firm files,
• Maintaining and keeping up-to-date a master list of archived files, being able to retrieve archived files;
• Distributing newly received correspondences, or documents to the appropriate individuals, teams, or departments within an organization,
• Support the archiving process by boxing, indexing, and securely storing inactive files according to organizational retention policies,
• Efficiently locate and provide files or information requested by various departments,
• Pull out inactive records from storage and prepare them for disposal or transfer,

Qualifications and Experience

• Assist with cataloguing, classifying, spine-labelling, and shelving of library collection,
• Performing any other duties assigned by the Registry team.
Qualifications & Skills
• Diploma or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Library and Information Science,
or Information Management.
• Minimum of 1-2 years in information management environment.
• Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word,
Excel, Outlook).
• Good verbal and written communication skills, high attention to detail, and outstanding organizational abilities.
• Ability to work for extended periods. (This position involves sorting and lifting
boxes manually.
