Job Title: Projects / Business and Advisory Manager

Department: Marketing and Value Chains

Reports To: Marketing and Value Chain Director

Duty Station: Head Office

Job Purpose

The Projects/Business and Advisory Manager will be reporting directly to the Marketing and Value Chain Director. The Manager is expected to lead the planning, development, implementation, coordination, and monitoring of agricultural projects and advisory services that enhance productivity, market access, value addition, and competitiveness across agricultural value chains. The Manager is responsible for mobilizing resources, providing technical advisory services to stakeholders, managing strategic partnerships, and ensuring that projects are implemented efficiently and achieve intended outcomes in line with AMA’s mandate and strategic objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

* Develop, coordinate, and manage agricultural and agribusiness projects from conception to completion.
* Prepare project proposals, business cases, funding applications, work plans, and budgets.
* Provide technical and business advisory services to farmers, agribusinesses, investors, and other stakeholders.
* Identify funding opportunities and build strategic partnerships with government, development partners, and the private sector.
* Monitor, evaluate, and report on project performance, ensuring timely delivery and achievement of objectives.
* Conduct research, feasibility studies, and promote innovation to enhance agricultural productivity and competitiveness.
* Design and facilitate capacity-building programmes, training workshops, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
* Manage project finances, ensure compliance with policies, donor requirements, and regulations, and oversee project risk management.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications

* Master’s Degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Project Management, Agriculture, Rural Development, Development Studies, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field.
* Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Economics, Project Management, Rural Development, or a related discipline.
* Professional certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
* Banking experience is an added advantage.
Experience

* Minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience in project management, agricultural development, agribusiness, advisory services, or value chain development.
* At least 5 years in a supervisory or management role.
* Demonstrated experience in developing bankable projects.
* Demonstrated experience in donor- and government-funded project management, resource mobilization, and stakeholder engagement.
* Experience in monitoring and evaluation, proposal writing, and partnership development is highly desirable.
