PROJECT OFFICER - CHILD PROTECTION
ABOUT SIMUKAI CHILD PROTECTION PROGRAMME
Simukai Child Protection Programme is a Zimbabwean registered PVO (27/12) (http://www.simukaicpp.org.zw) which was established to serve children in a holistic and inclusive manner based on the Eco-systemic child rights approach. The Organization empowers children, young people and communities to address various child-safeguarding issues, enhance their sustainable livelihoods, take anticipatory actions to natural and man-made hazards as well as sustainable environmental management. This is executed through through advocacy, partnerships, inclusive and innovative service delivery. Simukai seeks to recruit the following staff Project Officer – Child Protection x 1.
POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Child Protection Coordinator, the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of child protection services in Mutare District, providing support and guidance to social workers for quality and consistency of service delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Engage, collaborate and coordinate with district and community level Department of Social Development (DSD), in implementing and rolling out Child Protection activities in the targeted wards of Mutare District.
• Support DSD in monitoring and tracking Child Protection concerns through case management mobile clinics to the targeted wards and carry out individualized case management.
• Conduct joint assessments with relevant stakeholders to identify issues leading to violence against children.
• Participate in district level sensitization meetings and community level awareness
campaigns.
Management of toll-free hotline.

Qualifications and Experience

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
 Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or Social Sciences. A post graduate qualification in social work, child protection or any related field will be an added advantage
 At least 3 years working experience in an NGO setting preferably in Child Protection
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills
 Good interpersonal skills
 High degree of professionalism and integrity and ability to demonstrate good judgment,
discretion, and confidentiality at all times.
 Proficiency in usual desktop software (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
 Clean Class 4 driver’s license
