Project Assistant - Intern

Job Description

The Centre for Conflict Management and Transformation (CCMT) is offering an exciting opportunity for a Project Assistant - Intern to join its team. If you are currently pursuing your education in social sciences, political sciences, development studies, conflict/peace studies or other relevant fields, have a passion for peacebuilding and conflict transformation and desire to contribute to meaningful projects, this internship position is ideal for you. Under the guidance and supervision of Project Officers, the Project Assistant - Intern will provide support for its ongoing projects and assists Project Officers in the planning and implementation of projects. The Project Assistant – Intern, will have the opportunity to gain practical experience and be mentored by highly qualified professionals in the field. This role is designed to provide the Intern with hands-on tasks and responsibilities related to various projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Assist in the development of project plans.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of activities (meetings, workshops, trainings, dialogues, etc.) contributing to results as outlined in project results frameworks.
- Assist in documenting activities in accordance with the organisation’s M&E requirements and in maintaining high quality of documentation and reports.
- Assist in mobilizing stakeholders and target groups for activities and organise logistics.
- Assist in preparing requisition forms and in administering, documenting and reconciling project expenses in the field according to the organisation’s policies and procedures and donor requirements.
- Assist project staff in collecting and compiling relevant M&E and research data and in monitoring the operational context.
- Assist in collecting and compiling relevant project information and materials for communications purposes, as requested.
- Support organisational communications via social media platforms.
- Assist in preparing and presenting information for regular internal reviews as well as meetings with funding partners and project stakeholders.
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience

- Pursuing a Degree in Social Sciences, Political Sciences, Development Studies, Conflict/Peace Studies or other relevant fields
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to grasp concepts quickly.
- Proficiency in using technology and software for project-related tasks.
- Excellent report writing skills
