PROFESSOR/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/SENIOR LECTURER/LECTURER- (2 Posts)
Reporting to the HOD, the main duties and responsibilities of Lecturer will be that of teaching, conducting solution-oriented research that will lead to transformative policy changes and innovation in the field of Media and Journalism in line with Education 5.0.
POST A - DIGITAL AND NEW MEDIA/ JOURNALISM
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and deliver teaching material for various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Digital and New Media/Journalism(s) or its equivalent and related courses.
• Active engagement in high-quality research; implementing new developments in Digital and New Media/Journalism(s);
• Setting up original theoretical and practical research or key technologies in Digital and New Media/Journalism(s) and enhancing international academic influence.
• Innovative teaching and student assessment for taught courses.
• Impactful research and innovation in the area of Digital and New Media/Journalism(s)
• Supervision of research projects and dissertations for undergraduate in Digital and New Media/Journalism(s)
• Developing and implementing community engagement projects and community service
• Advising undergraduate and graduate students.
• Administrative tasks related to teaching and learning
• Teamwork in the development of new modules, programmes in line with the Higher Education Qualification Framework structures (ZIMCHE).
• Commitment to maintenance of high standards of ethical behaviour.
DESIRED ATTRIBUTES
• PhD Digital and New Media/Journalism(s) or its equivalent.
• Master’s Degree Digital and New Media/Journalism(s) or its equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree in Digital and New Media/Journalism(s) or its equivalent
• Academic authority (teaching and research) in Digital and New Media/Journalism(s) or its equivalent
• Strong record of relevant teaching, research and publications in reputable peer reviewed journals.
• Demonstrable competencies in innovation and industrialisation that are in sync with Education 5.0
• Track record of income generating projects and resource mobilisation
