Overseeing excavations, bedding, pipe laying, backfilling and repairs which relate to sewer and water reticulation.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide necessary supervision, direction, and assistance to the crew at work sites.
• Ensure that assigned areas of responsibility are performed within budget.
• Ensure effective and efficient use of personnel, materials, equipment, facilities, and time.
• Plan and organize workloads and staff assignments.
• Ensure work is completed according to standards and guidelines.
• Maintains harmony among team crew and may deal with grievances.
• Request for materials or machines to be used.
• Assures that tools and equipment are properly maintained and kept in proper working condition.
• Adhere and comply to SHEQ related issues.
• Ensure housekeeping is done daily.

Qualifications and Experience

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

• National certificate/diploma in Plumbing or higher.
• Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience working in the construction industry, working as a KEY SKILLS

• Excellent communication.
• Administrative skills.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Installing and repairing plumbing systems.
• Soldering and joining pipes.
• Building fire safety systems like fire hydrants.
• Material requisitions, stock take and cost estimation.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to troubleshoot problems effectively.
• Administrative skills such as tracking expenses and inventory, requesting materials and estimating costs.
