About
Zvandiri is a community organisation which through its Zvandiri programme, integrates community prevention, treatment, care and support for children, adolescents and young people living with HIV. Works with the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) and National AIDS Council in implementing these interventions with funding from various funders.
Position summary

We are looking for a skilled infrastructure, networking and security IT Officer, with a wide range of skills in ICT to join our exciting team and help deliver various on-going projects and support our growing user base.

Duties and Responsibilities

Job description

• Installing, supporting and managing new hardware infrastructure including firewalls, switches, routers, security appliances.
• Configuring and supporting public cloud-based services, including our Azure and Microsoft 365 platform.
• Liaise with different areas of the organisation to suggest solutions to organisational problems, interpreting requirements and designing technical and data-orientated solutions.
• Providing in-depth technical documentation.
• Managing IT service delivery on a day-to-day basis for all aspects of the Zvandiri operating environment, including Helpdesk, data centre and reporting/monitoring platforms.
• Managing project delivery on a day-to-day basis as well as providing support to the reset of the IT team as required.
• Providing training and technical support for users with varying levels of IT knowledge and competence
• Ensure security configurations and data backup of services and ability to implement recovery from disaster.
• Communicate with vendors and third parties where required to escalate support cases and assist in diagnostics to resolve issues with hardware, firmware/software.
• Reading specialist journals and attending training courses and industry meetings in order to keep up to date with the latest technological developments and trends.
• Provide support to the IT team members and assist in skills development within the team.
• Undertake any other technical duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• A degree in computer science or similar technical degree.
• Technical qualifications in Ubiquiti, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Cyber Security, Meta, and Public Cloud.
• Skills in Ubiquiti Unifi are advantageous, but not essential.
• Interest and awareness in developing technologies and trends.
• Proactive, dynamic & focussed with the ability to demonstrate a lot of attention to detail.
• Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook.
• A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance.
• Reliable, tolerant, and determined.
• Empathic communicator, able to see things from the other person's point of view.
• Well-presented and business-like.
• Keen for a new experience, responsibility and accountability.
• Able to get on with others and be a team-player.
• The successful candidate must be able to work extended hours on occasions when required. Working at other sites when required.
• Must be a competent writer of IT related documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal skills including ability to summarise and articulate complex solutions to senior management.
• Good knowledge of all aspects of enterprise applications, computer infrastructure, ICT security and networking.
• Experience with SaaS, IaaS, Hosting & Business Continuity would also be useful, as well as ability to learn and support bespoke applications.
• Interested in people that have worked for other non-profit organisations, security specialists, systems integrators, managed service providers, hosting & cloud providers.
• Awareness of license management.
• The ability to manage projects along with the ability take day to day ownership of core business functions in ICT service delivery along with supporting and mentoring other members of the team is essential.
