The IT Intern will support the day-to-day operations of the Information Technology Department by providing first-line technical support, assisting with the installation and maintenance of computer hardware and software, and ensuring the efficient operation of IT systems. The intern will gain practical experience in network administration, systems support, and IT asset management while contributing to the smooth delivery of technology services across the hospital.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide first-level technical support to employees experiencing hardware or software issues.
Assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
Install and update operating systems and business applications.
Assist in monitoring and maintaining local area networks (LANs) and internet connectivity.
Assist in creating, modifying, and disabling user accounts.
Monitor the performance of computer systems and servers.
Support regular data backup procedures.
Maintain records of IT equipment, software licenses, and technical issues.
Assist in implementing basic cybersecurity measures.
Help users understand basic IT systems and applications.
Qualifications and Experience
Studying towards a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
Knowledge of computer systems and software
Knowledge of network and system security
Familiarity with hardware and software installation
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Strong communication and customer service skills
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Able to learn quickly and adapt to changing technology
