Graduate Intern: Finance Officer

Job Description

A local Christian Organisation involved in advocacy and community development is looking for a Finance Officer in the finance department.
The applicant should be familiar with audits, invoices and budget preparations. Our ideal candidate should demonstrate knowledge in managing accounting activities, including bank reconciliations, accounts organisational skills and be able to handle time-sensitive tasks.
The applicant should be familiar with all listed responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities
• Keep accurate records for all transactions
• Prepare balance sheet
• Process invoices
• Record accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Update internal systems with financial data
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
• Reconciliation bank statements
• Participate in financial audits
• Track bank deposits and payments
• Assist with budget preparation
• Review and implement financial reports

Qualifications and Experience

Requirements
• Solid knowledge of financial accounting procedures
• Knowledge of donor grant regulations is an added advantage
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• Knowledge of financial regulations and pastel accounting system is a must
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills
• Sharp time management skills
• Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data
• BSc degree in Finance, Accounting
