Our client, a leading organisation in the manufacturing/food processing sector, is seeking to appoint a dynamic and results-driven professional to the position of General Manager.Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the General Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership to drive business growth, operational excellence, profitability and sustainable value creation. The incumbent will be responsible for maximising the utilisation of organisational resources while ensuring alignment with company strategy, values and regulatory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Developing and implementing business strategies to achieve growth, profitability and operational objectives.
• Driving operational excellence through improved productivity, cost management, quality enhancement and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Overseeing financial performance, budgeting, cost control, cash flow management and capital expenditure initiatives.
• Identifying business development opportunities, expanding markets and strengthening strategic partnerships.
• Providing leadership and direction to management teams while promoting employee engagement, talent development and effective performance management.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, regulatory standards, quality requirements and company policies.
• Managing relationships with key stakeholders, suppliers, regulators and community partners.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate should possess:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Production, Mechanical or related field) or equivalent qualification.
• A Master’s Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration (MBA) or related qualification will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 5 years’ senior management experience in the food processing/manufacturing sector.
• Proven experience in strategic planning, operations management, business development and financial management.
• Membership of a relevant professional body will be an added advantage.
