ABOUT THE PROJECT
The TAYAMBUKA project is a USAID BHA funded project that focuses on addressing critical
issues in humanitarian assistance, with a specific emphasis on reducing food consumption
gaps and enhancing long-term food security in Zaka district, Masvingo province, over a period
of 12 months. The project aims to achieve these goals through in-kind food assistance and
programs that improve the productivity of communal land. By empowering smallholder farming
households and promoting sustainable practices, we aim to build community resilience and
protect against future shocks.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Field Coordinator will play a crucial role in coordinating and implementing field
activities, fostering effective communication and collaboration with local communities,
partners, and stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of project activities and achieving desired outcomes in TAYAMBUKA.

Duties and Responsibilities

KEY RESULT AREAS
The Field Coordinator will be primarily reporting to the Humanitarian Programs Coordinator.
1. Field Activity Coordination
• Develop and implement detailed field activity plans, including data collection, surveys,
and community engagement initiatives.
• Ensure timely and efficient execution of field activities, addressing any challenges or
obstacles that arise.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of field activities, including attendance,
deliverables, and progress reports.
• Supervising the implementation of unconditional food assistance activities, which
includes overseeing registrations, distributions, and monitoring processes.
• Ensuring project activities adhere to relevant donor and government regulations,
guidelines, and standards.
2. Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local communities, partners, and
stakeholders, fostering trust and collaboration.
• Facilitate regular meetings and dialogues to ensure open communication and address
any concerns or feedback.
• Represent the organization in local forums, meetings, and events, serving as the
primary point of contact for field-related matters relating to TAYAMBUKA project.
• Identifying and mitigating risks that could impact project delivery.

3. Logistical Support and Resource Management
• Oversee the logistics of the project’s operations, including transportation,
accommodation, and equipment management.
• Ensure the availability and proper functioning of necessary resources, such as
vehicles, communication devices, and field supplies.
• Develop and implement efficient processes for procurement, inventory control, and
asset management.
4. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
• Oversee collection and analysis of field data, generating comprehensive reports for
senior management and other stakeholders.
• Supervise the identification and monitoring of key performance indicators, tracking
progress and identifying areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with the monitoring and evaluation team to ensure alignment with
organizational goals and objectives.
5. Capacity Building and Training
• Assess the training and capacity-building needs of local communities and partners.
• Develop and deliver tailored training programs to enhance skills, knowledge, and
abilities.
• Provide ongoing support and mentorship to local counterparts, fostering sustainable
capacity development.

Qualifications and Experience

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as social sciences, agriculture, food
security, or environmental studies.
• At least 5 years of experience in field coordination, community development, or a
related field.
• Experience in conditional and unconditional food assistance programming is key.
