We are looking for a Farm Manager to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of our integrated farming units in Kwekwe, covering fish farming, pig production, crop cultivation, and irrigation. The successful candidate will ensure all enterprises run efficiently, productively, and in harmony to support the overall goals of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Plan and coordinate, and supervise all fish farming activities including pond management, breeding, feeding, water quality and control, and harvesting.
2. Oversee piggery operations, ensuring proper nutrition, housing, breeding routines, and overall herd health.
3. Manage crop production cycle from land operations and planting through to weed control, pest management, and harvesting.
4. Design, operate, and maintain irrigation systems (drip, sprinkler, or pivot) to ensure effective water use across all crop fields.
5. Integrate farm enterprises for maximum efficiency, such as utilizing pig manure for crop fertilization and crop by products for fish feed.
6. Maintain accurate records of production, inputs, stock, and maintenance activities.
7. Ensure biosecurity and animal welfare standards are upheld across all livestock operations.
Qualifications and Experience
1. Proven hands-on experience in fish farming, pig management, and crop production is essential.
2. Strong practical knowledge of irrigation systems design, operations, and maintenance.
3. At least 2 years in a supervisory or farm management role is required.
4. A diploma or certificate in Agriculture, Animal Science, Crop Science, or related field is highly desirable.
5. Ability to work independently, solve problems on the ground, and make sound operational decisions.
6. Physically fit and willing to work outdoors in varies weather conditions.
7. Strong leadership, record-keeping, and communication skills.
