Optimize your CV In my experience, your CV can be your strongest or weakest link. Therefore, updating your CV to bring relevance to this role is crucial. Ensure your experiences in calibration in the health sector are highlighted and detailed.
ISO17025 Accreditation Knowledge One notable requirement in job vacancies in Zimbabwe, specifically in health sector roles, is oftentimes a deep familiarity with ISO17025 standards. If you have such familiarity, it should not be hidden in your CV or cover letter.
Communication skills Job offers in Zimbabwe often require strong communication skills. Make sure your CV and cover letter exemplify this alongside your teamwork skills in your past roles.
Details Matter A key factor that recruitment agencies in Zimbabwe look for, and this job does too, is attention to detail. Use your CV and cover letter as proof that you can be detailed and organized.
Transferable Skills If you lack some qualifications but possess similar skills or experiences, highlight those. This might convince the employers to give you a chance.
Application Deadline The closing date for applications is 31st December 2023. Be sure to submit your application ahead of time.
Job Title The job title is a crucial detail to note when applying. Remember to specify this accurately in your application email header to avoid confusion.
Post Specifications Note the specifics of the role, primarily focusing on calibration of laboratory instruments. These are areas where your application should show competence.
Organizational Skills The jobs listing mentions organisational abilities, hence it's something BRTI highly values; this should be something that is highlighted in your CV
Application Address Send your applications accurately to the address specified in the job listing
Show Initiative What I have noticed over time is that showing how you've taken initiative in past roles relevant to calibration is a great way to stand out amidst Zimbabwean jobs.
Problem-Solving Skills Besides the commonplace skills, having excellent problem-solving skills in line with the instrumentation role will be noticed. Interviewers are always thrilled by real-life examples of how you tackled a problem.
Hands-on Experience NGO jobs in Zimbabwe value hands-on experience. If you have such, be it internships or volunteering, do not hesitate to include this in your CV.
Physical Address Novice applicants may overlook the mention of a physical address, assuming email will suffice for all correspondence. However, physical mail might be asked for at a later stage by BRTI.
Applied Physics Diploma In my experience, some novices may just skim over the qualification requirements; missing one requirement might distort the whole view of the job posting, such as being qualified in Applied Physics and Instrumentation.
Experience in Health Sector Lastly, given that there are multiple jobs in ZW, a quick read through might make an applicant ignore the mention of similar experience in the health sector. However, the mention of 'similar equipment in the health sector' suggests an ideal candidate will have health sector experience.
