OVERALL PURPOSE
Under the supervision of the Human Resources and Administration Officer the Driver/Messenger will be responsible for providing driving services, messengerial duties in an efficient and effective manner so as to contribute to the objectives of the organisation.
Duties and Responsibilities
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Convey organisational staff and consultants to designated approved locations
• Ensure adequate safety, cleanliness, security and maintenance of the project vehicle assigned
• Ensure proper day-to-day maintenance of all organisational vehicle through timely arrangements for minor and major repairs and servicing, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, car washing, etc
• Ensure availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, and necessary spare parts.
• Check log book completeness for all vehicles and reconcile fuel efficiency in accordance with motor vehicle policy.
• Plan route and requirements by studying schedule or ad-hoc request by the office.
• Ensure passengers adhere to all road safety regulations.
• Pick-up and delivery of organisational documents and goods
• Conduct driving practical tests for staff
• Perform banking for the organization
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
Academic Qualification and Experience
b. A minimum of a 5 O levels and any other relevant certificates with a minimum of 5 years driving experience .
c. Must have a valid defensive driving certificate and a valid driving license.
d. Experience of driving 4 X4 Landcruiser vehicle is required.
e. Experience as a driver mechanic will be an added advantage.
CRITICAL OR TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
• Must be mature and willing to work odd hours
• Must be willing to drive to areas outside of Harare
• Good written, oral, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Must have excellent numeric skills.
• Must have high analytical skills and pay attention to detail.
• Highly self-driven and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Must have a clean career record, be honest, accountable and a person of integrity
