Job Description

FACT Zimbabwe is a Christian based organization that was instituted in 1987. Since establishment, FACT Zimbabwe has been a leading national HIV and development
organization implementing various projects directly and through partnerships. FACT seeks the
services of a District Coordinator detailed below;

Duties and Responsibilities

6. Roles and Responsibilities
• Set program priorities, catch up plans and keep abreast of development trends to
enhance program effectiveness, efficiency and delivery
• Develop a consolidated monthly/ weekly program work plan from each thematic area
in compliance with defined expectations to meet program -specific goals and objectives
and monitor implementation of the work plan.
• Provide technical and operational support in all thematic areas focusing on service
provision of a standard package and case management.
• Ensure integration, coherence and harmonization of all thematic area interventions
within the individual pillars to set outcomes and targets.
• Strengthen collaboration with stakeholders and program teams to ensure specialised
interventions to program participants and completion of referrals.
• Provide technical guidance and operational support to program staff on interpretation,
application and understanding of child rights standards, FACT Policies, SOPs and
SIMS
• Collaborate with program and finance staff on finance issues related to all thematic area
interventions to ensure compliance, consistency and transparency taking cognisance of
organizational and donor regulations and guidelines
• Ensure child safeguarding risk assessments are conducted and approved before any
activity is conducted with children.
• Technical Support to Program Management, Monitoring and Delivery of Results
• Support in monitoring and evaluation activities of thematic areas through regular
weekly, monthly, quarterly and semi-annual reports to document the quality of
intervention delivery and completeness of facts. The reports should be for
management, donors and partners to keep them informed of program progress.
• Enhance human resources (HR) by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee
relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
• Provide administrative support to human resources issues.
• Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all
positions in all thematic areas.
• Identify employee training needs and evaluate how well duties are being conducted
using appraisals to measure and reward performance
• Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications and Experience

7. Qualifications, Knowledge and experience
Education & Training
• Master degree in social work, child protection, child rights, family studies or
development studies.
Experience
• At least 2 years’ professional work experience in a child-focussed NGO, preferably
in coordination or supervisory level.
• Knowledge of community-based child protection approaches and alternative care
processes, preferably including experience in participatory approaches and child
participation methodologies
• Psychosocial Support and Life Skills training experience is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of basic counselling is an added advantage
Required Skills & Competencies
• Strong writing skills and experience in preparing quality reports
• Excellent communication, organization and presentation skills, especially with
community-based groups
• Demonstrable sound training expertise and skills in a cross-cultural setting
• Self-tarter able to take initiative and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
• High levels of integrity, commitment and professional responsibility
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, guidelines and clear
expectations
• A strong inter-personal and team player
• Proficiency in MS application packages, including Word, Excel and database
software
