JOB TITLE : Diesel Plant Fitter
DEPARTMENT: Plant and Transport
REPORTS TO :Plant and Transport Foreman
RESPONSIBLE FOR : Ensuring that all machinery and equipment are maintained properly as per Standard
JOB CLASSIFICATION: Skilled
JOB LOCATION: HARARE
JOB SUMMRY

Duties and Responsibilities

• Vehicle repair and maintenance
• Preparing requisitions for spares needed
Running diagnostic tests on vehicles.
• Analysing diagnostic test results.
• Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and braking systems.
• Checking vehicle lighting systems.
• Test driving vehicles to gauge performance.
• Performing preventative maintenance on service trucks.
• Follow all company procedures and controls.
• Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles as per PMS
• Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist.
• Maintaining a parts inventory.
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the workshop and machines.
• Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged parts.
• Inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions and diagnose to determine extent of repair required.
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems, using appropriate tools.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

• Class 1 Diesel Plant Fitting
• Trade test
• 3 years’ experience working in similar position

• Knowledge of safety and health practices
• Physical Fitness
• Ability to comply to site safety regulations and rules
• Computer literacy
• Class 2 Drivers license
