Job Description

Diesel Mechanic, responsible for, inspecting, diagnosing and repairing diesel-powered vehicles (30 tonne trucks) and trailers.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Test drive vehicles to assess performance and verify the effectiveness of repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance on service trucks to minimize downtime and extend vehicle lifespan
. • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles, including repairs, replacements, and maintenance activities.
• Adhere to an inspection procedure checklist to ensure thoroughness and accuracy.
•Complete job reports accurately and process necessary paperwork.
• Collaborate with team members and provide assistance when needed.

Qualifications and Experience

•Class 1 Skilled Artisan in Diesel Mechanic/Diesel Plant Fitting.
• Minimum of 5 Ordinary Levels.
• At least 3 years of post-qualification experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of Shacman, Freightliner, and Scania fleet electrical and electronic systems is an added advantage.
• Valid driver’s license.
