Position​: Construction Foreman
Location​: Various Construction Sites (Zimbabwe)
Reports to​: Project Manager

Overview:
The Construction Foreman is responsible for overseeing the daily operations on a construction site, ensuring the timely and efficient completion of projects according to set specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. The role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate various trades and subcontractors on-site.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
1. Site Supervision and Leadership:
• Oversee and manage the construction crew, subcontractors, and labourers.
• Provide guidance and on-the-job training to workers on the proper techniques, safety procedures, and equipment usage.
• Ensure that work is carried out according to project plans, drawings, and specifications.
2. Safety Management:
• Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and standards in line with Zimbabwean regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
• Ensure workers are properly equipped with personal protective equipment (PPE) and conduct safety briefings.
3. Project Coordination:
• Ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Coordinate the scheduling and allocation of labour, materials, and equipment.
• Liaise with the Project Manager to provide updates on project progress, delays, and challenges.
4. Quality Control:
• Monitor the quality of work done by workers and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with construction drawings and technical specifications.
• Conduct regular inspections of completed tasks to identify defects or areas requiring improvement.
5. Resource Management:
• Ensure efficient use of materials and tools to minimize waste and maximize productivity.
• Keep track of inventory and report any shortages to the Project Manager for procurement.
6. Reporting and Documentation:
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including work progress, workforce attendance, and any incidents or accidents.
• Provide daily or weekly reports on project status, challenges, and work completed.

Educational Requirements:
A minimum of a National Diploma or Trade Qualification in Building, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of at least 5 years working experience as a construction foreman.
