The role is to carry out inter-personal communication activities for ‘The Strength is in You’- Anti Drug Campaign at community level.
• Conducts interactive personal communication sessions with the campaign priority population groups to improve understanding of the drivers of drugs and substance use and gain community buy-in to help people who use drugs.
• Executes mid-media campaign activities in collaboration with IPC Team Lead.
• Develops and implements a monthly itinerary for conducting weekly personal communication sessions/community dialogues with community members.
• Supports local PSH & government line ministry structures in organization and implementation of inter-ward activities.
• Maps congregate settings in the community to facilitate anti-drug and substance use information dissemination.
• Acts as the go-to person who mobilizes campaign priority population groups for dialogue.
• Supports community-based interventions primarily targeting campaign priority populations in the assigned area, as well as facilitate one on one and group discussions on anti-drug and substance use messages using the ‘Strength is in you’ campaign assets.
• Facilitates referral of drug users to local community support groups.
• Facilitates linkage of people using drugs and illicit substances to access SRHR & HIV services.
• Assists in the incorporation of ‘The Strength is In You’ campaign messages in daily community activities and community congregant settings.
• Accurately documents all project activities carried out.
• Any other duties assigned by the Marketing Manager either directly or through the Marketing Officer.
• A minimum of 5 ‘O’ levels.
• Diploma/Degree in Social Sciences is an added advantage.
• Ideal candidate should reside in/within proximity of the area he/she has applied for.
• Experience working in public health/SRHR/Mental Health/Drug & Substance Abuse programming is an added advantage.
