Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Commodities Trader to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing and trading commodities across various markets, with a focus on maximizing profitability while managing risk. This position requires a deep understanding of market trends, supply and demand factors, and the ability to make quick, informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conducting comprehensive market analysis, including fundamental and technical analysis of commodities (e.g., oil, gas, metals, agricultural products) to identify trading opportunities.
• Executing buying and selling orders in the commodities market, ensuring optimal entry and exit points based on market conditions.
• Developing and implementing risk management strategies to minimize exposure and protect the firm’s capital while optimizing trade returns.
• Overseeing a diversified portfolio of commodities, balancing risk and return, and maintaining a keen eye on global market dynamics.
• Collaborating with senior traders and analysts to develop short and long-term trading strategies that align with company objectives.
• Continuously monitoring market conditions, economic events, geopolitical developments, and commodity-specific news to make informed decisions.
• Providing regular updates and reports on trading performance, risk exposures, and market conditions to senior management.
• Ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards when executing trades and managing portfolios.
• Performing any other duties assigned by the Head of Trading.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
• A Master’s degree is an added advantage
• 3years of experience in commodities trading, with a proven track record of successful trades.
