The CIT Cashier is responsible for the accurate counting, verification, and processing of cash consignments handled by the Cash in Transit department, maintaining precise financial records, and ensuring full compliance with the company’s cash management procedures during field operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Count, sort, and verify cash consignments received and disbursed during operations, ensuring accuracy at all times.
-Prepare and maintain detailed records of all cash movements, including receipts, manifests, and consignment documentation.
-Reconcile cash figures at the beginning and end of each operational run, promptly reporting and investigating any variances.
-Liaise with clients and bank representatives during cash collection and delivery to confirm and authenticate transaction amounts.
-Complete and submit accurate daily cash reports and operational paperwork to the designated supervisor.
-Operate cash-counting equipment and other relevant tools in accordance with established procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
-Participate in pre-deployment briefings and adhere to all operational protocols and schedules as directed by the team supervisor.
-Adhere strictly to all company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements governing cash handling and financial reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Requirements
-Minimum of 5 O-Level passes including Mathematics and English.
Professional Qualifications
-Certificate or Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
Experience
-At least two (2) years’ experience in a cashiering, cash handling, or finance role, preferably within the security industry or a related service sector.
Competencies and Skills
-Exceptional numeracy skills and a high degree of accuracy in cash counting and verification.
-Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies under time pressure.
-Good knowledge of cash management practices and financial record-keeping.
-Computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Excel and relevant cash management software.
-High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
-Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a dynamic, field-based environment.
-Good communication and interpersonal skills.
-A valid Class 4 driver’s licence will be an added advantage.
