CCMT seeks to engage the services of a consultant to develop and facilitate the adoption of a gender policy which is valid, contextual, relevant, practical and widely disseminated and understood within irrigation schemes.
• Design and implement a robust gender analysis methodology.
• Facilitate inclusive and participatory gender dialogues.
• Develop a draft gender-policy, ensuring alignment with national and international gender equality frameworks.
• Incorporate stakeholder feedback into policy revisions.
• Develop a clear and actionable dissemination and implementation strategy.
• Conduct a dissemination and awareness-raising workshop.
• Produce a final Gender policy and a Gender Analysis Report documenting the policy development process.
• Advanced degree in gender studies, development studies, social sciences, or a related field, with a focus on gender and agriculture.
• Extensive experience in conducting gender analyses and developing gender-transformative policies, particularly in the agricultural or rural development sector.
• Demonstrated understanding of power dynamics and gender inequalities in irrigation schemes or similar contexts.
• Proven ability to facilitate participatory processes and engage with diverse stakeholders, including marginalized groups.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and report-writing skills.
• Familiarity with the local context and languages is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated understanding of intersectionality and how it relates to gender
