CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST: Enhancing Institution Capacity in Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting and Project Design

Job Description

1. ABOUT TRANSPARENCY INTERNATIONAL ZIMBABWE

Transparency International Zimbabwe (TI Z) is a non- profit, non- partisan, systems orientated local chapter of the international movement against corruption. Its broad mandate is to fight corruption and related vices through networks of integrity. It was established in 1996 and became accredited as a national chapter in 2001, as one of six such chapters in Southern Africa. TI Z holds that corruption can be effectively tackled where democratic values thrive. In this regard, TI Z’s work is built on a belief that people-centred and accountable governance systems and processes are central to transparency. TI Zimbabwe’s work is anchored on engagement, consultation, transparency, integrity, and participation. TI Z through its national strategy seeks to solicit new strategic partners to support its anti-corruption initiatives in Zimbabwe through strengthening staff capacity in evidence based impact reporting and using MEL evidence in planning and designing interventions. The main purpose of the training is to equip the TI Z programming staff with knowledge of designing, monitoring and evaluating projects to improve program quality, ensure inclusive decision making and learning.

Duties and Responsibilities

2. Objectives
i. To enhance staff abilities in measuring and reporting impact.
ii. To improve TI Z staff abilities in fundraising approaches.
iii. To strengthen the quality of TI Z programming, monitoring, evaluation, reporting and learning processes.

3. Training Content
The training will cover the following aspects;
i. Understanding Theory of change
ii. Outcome harvesting and Report writing
iii. Story-telling and compiling stories of change
iv. Project sustainability and fundraising from an MEAL perspective
v. Innovative tools for qualitative and quantitative research data gathering and analysis (for research and M&E)

4. Main activities of the consultancy
i. Inception meeting with TI Z team to frame and contextualise organisational requirements.
ii. Funding partner scoping and analysis
iii. Conduct a 2-day training workshop for all TI Z staff members.
iv. Develop and submit a final report of the training workshop.

5. Duration and main content of the training
This assignment is expected to be implemented within the following timeframes:
• Inception meeting- 03 June 2024
• Workshop training -07 - 08 June 2024
• Submission of the report - 14 June 2024

Qualifications and Experience

Education
Master’s degree in a field relevant to the assignment, for example in Monitoring and Evaluation, Development Studies, Statistics, Results Based Management related social science fields, or business administration.

Technical Experience and Requirements
1. Monitoring and evaluation professional
2. Minimum of five years of professional experience related to monitoring and evaluation and resource mobilisation in national/international organizations.
3. Proven experience in providing M&E and proposal development trainings at the national, regional or international level.
4. Work experience in Democracy, Governance, Rights and Extractive Projects is a plus.
5. Strong English speaking and writing skills.
6. Availability to provide the training in person.
7. Availability to provide mentoring/answer any questions that the trainees may have in regards to the exercise or concepts provided during the training sessions.

The consultant/s will be selected through competitive process upon thorough and fair scrutiny of the technical and financial proposals of the competing interested parties.
