Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced personnel to be engaged for a Part Time Contract subject to further extension as per the availability of similar projects, to fill the above-mentioned positions within the Construction Services Department. The incumbents will report to the Project Supervisor and will be based in Bulawayo.
Duties and Responsibilities
â–ªAnalyzing blueprints and construction drawings to understand the layout and design of the brickwork.
â–ªAccurately measuring and marking surfaces where bricks will be laid using tools like chalk lines.
â–ªPreparing the mortar mixture to the correct consistency for bonding bricks together.
â–ªSpreading mortar on the prepared surface and carefully placing bricks in position, ensuring proper alignment and level.
â–ªUsing tools like a brick hammer and chisel to cut bricks to fit specific areas and angles.
â–ªFinishing brickwork by tooling joints and applying pointing mortar to seal gaps.
â–ªWorking safely on scaffolding to reach higher areas of a building.
â–ªLoading, unloading, and transporting bricks and other building materials
Qualifications and Experience
â–ª5 O Levels.
â–ªClass one skilled Worker certificate in Bricklaying and concreting will be an added advantage.
▪Minimum 2 years’ experience in Construction projects.
