Mother Touch Group of Schools, Selous (Chegutu), invites applications for the position of Boarding Matron. We seek a compassionate and professional individual to oversee the welfare and daily life of students in our boarding facility. The successful candidate must be a Registered Nurse with a valid practicing certificate, able to combine medical care with holistic student support in a nurturing, values‑driven environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Supervise and manage all aspects of boarding life, ensuring discipline, safety, and student welfare.
* Oversee the kitchen, chefs, and general staff, ensuring cleanliness of boarding facilities and classrooms.
* Manage grocery ordering, stock control, and menu planning to provide balanced, nutritious meals.
* Attend to sick children promptly and provide professional nursing care.
* Offer counselling and emotional support to students, fostering a caring and supportive atmosphere.
* Maintain effective communication with parents, staff, and administration regarding student welfare.
* Promote a wholesome environment consistent with the school’s values and ethos.
* Act as the chaplain in the absent of one
* Act as school chaplain in the absence of one, providing moral guidance and mentorship consistent with the school’s ethos.
Qualifications and Experience
* Relevant qualification.
* Prior experience in student care, boarding management, or youth counselling.
*Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
*Ability to multitask and manage diverse responsibilities with professionalism.
* Compassionate, approachable, and disciplined.
* Passionate about student welfare and holistic development.
* Well‑organized, proactive, and aligned with the school’s values.
