About the Project
Help-Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe (Help) and Dabane Trust are jointly implementing an intervention focused on humanitarian food support for 16400 households in twenty wards of Bulilima and Mangwe rural districts. The activity is funded by the USAID through the Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA). The following is the goal of the project:
Improved food and nutrition security and capacity of households in Bulilima and Mangwe districts to respond to drought and climate change.

Duties and Responsibilities

Consultancy Role:
Help is looking for an experienced consultant to design and undertake a baseline survey based on the project design and expected deliverables. The Consultant/Consultant firm will work closely with and be supported by the Project team in successfully executing this task. The survey will provide a benchmark from which to measure implementation progress of the project through an in-depth, situation analysis and needs assessment in the target districts. This survey will provide the initial status of the indicators in the results framework and facilitate monitoring of progress towards meeting project objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications:
• A post-graduate qualification in Monitoring and Evaluation, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Business Management, Crop Science or other related disciplines.
• Vast experience in carrying out surveys in Zimbabwe for USAID BHA funded programmes. Experience in conducting food security/climate change adaptation or agribusiness project surveys particularly with a focus on dry land farming, WASH and rural development is an added advantage.
• Strong skills in qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
• Strong experience in questionnaire development, interview techniques and managing focus group discussions (FGDs) and key informant interviews (KII).
• Experience in using mobile data collection systems such as KoBoCollect/ODK is a key requirement.
• The enumerators must be conversant in Ndebele language.
• Experience in facilitating data collection exercises and ability to use modern communication platforms such as Skype and Zoom.
• Excellent organising, facilitating, presentation and communication skills.
• Excellent English report writing skills.
