We are looking for dedicated Assistant Estate Managers to join our team. Reporting to the SBU Manager - Estate, the successful applicants will, among other key duties, be responsible for:
Duties and Responsibilities
• Assisting in the preparation of capital, revenue, and expenditure budgets while tracking operational expenses.
• Supporting the review of business performance metrics against stated objectives on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Recording and organizing data related to production, farm management practices, and parent stock.
• Aiding in the preparation of production reports.
• Ensuring land preparation tasks are completed timely, supporting the Estate Manager's strategic planning.
• Assisting in the analysis of soil samples to determine fertilizer requirements for optimal production.
• Monitoring plant growth, reporting on needs for plant care equipment and agricultural chemicals.
• Preparing for crop harvesting by coordinating logistics and ensuring timely market delivery.
• Aiding in developing procedural changes related to drying, grading, storage, and transportation of crops.
• Inspecting fields to report on crop maturity and potential weather-related damages.
• Supporting the estate manager in the development and production of hybrid plant varieties.
• Assisting in managing estate assets by helping with the documentation and processes for acquisition and disposal.
• Aiding in the recruitment process and supporting worker training and safety compliance.
• Contributing to staff motivation and retention efforts by assisting in training programs and performance initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
• Diploma/ Degree in Agronomy, Agriculture or Crop Science or equivalent.
• At least 2 years hands on experience.
• 5 Ordinary Level passes including English Language and Mathamatics.
