JOB TITLE : Assistant Diesel Plant Fitter
DEPARTMENT : Plant and Transport
REPORTS TO : Diesel Plant Fitter
RESPONSIBLE FOR : Assisting Artisans in all workshop duties
JOB CLASSIFICATION: Skilled
JOB LOCATION : HARARE

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assisting Artisans on vehicle repairs and maintenances

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in performing routine maintenance, repairs and overhauls on diesel engines, pumps, gearboxes and other equipment.
• Attend to breakdowns on site
• Assist in maintaining tools and equipment in good order.
• Carry out duties assigned by Workshop Supervisor in efficient and safe manner.
• Ensure proper handling of all equipment especially mechanical and electronic gauges to avoid failures.
• Assist in vehicle prechecks and greasing plant and equipment on daily basis.
• Maintain good housekeeping at work site and accommodation on daily basis.

Qualifications and Experience

KEY SKILLS

• Knowledge of vehicle repair procedures
• Knowledge of Workshop equipment, tools and handling procedures.
• Manual dexterity, precision, and accuracy
• Good interpersonal and communication skills

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

• NC Diesel Plant Fitting
• 5 O’ Levels
• 1 Year working experience

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Valid Class 2 Driver’s license
• Knowledge of safety and health practices
• Ability to comply to safety rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of operating different pieces of equipment within the workshop area
