The job exists to provide management information on the firm’s performance timeously to the users to facilitate financial or economic decision making.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Assists in preparing monthly Flash Accounts, Management Accounts and Year-End Accounts.
• Assists in maintaining the Monthly Trial Balance.
• Carries out monthly Nominal Ledger reconciliations.
• Reconciles Control Accounts, i.e. Debtors, Creditors, Stocks, Banks etc. against General Ledger.
• Maintains and updates the Fixed Asset Register.
• Assists in conducting inventory counts.
• Maintains the Stock Ledger and carries out stock valuations.
• Remits all statutory payments timeously.
• Conducts bank reconciliations for all Banks.
• Assist in debt collection.
• Reviews inter-co transactions.
• Assist the Accountant to design, implement and manage accounting and other financial internal controls that support effective decisions and safeguard the entity’s resources.
Qualifications and Experience
• A degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
• At least 2 years' experience in a similar role.
• Professional qualifications such as CTA/ACCA will be an added advantage.
