Applications are invited for the Assistant Accountant vacancy that has arisen within Baker's Inn Manufacturing - Southern Region, Bulawayo.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
The candidate will be required to take full charge of all key responsibilities that include but are not limited to the following:
• Preparing accounting reports or other information for production of financial
• Reconciling all accounts reflected in the balance sheet.
• Performing monthly throughput reconciliations for raw materials, work-in-progress and finished goods.
• Ensuring adherence to systems of internal control and striving for continuous improvement.
• Preparing and submitting monthly reconciliations.
• Preparing and implementing budgets.
• Implementing an effective and accurate product costing to maintain corporate margins.
• Continuously monitoring computer and manual financial
systems and
coordinating implementation of new systems and amendments to
• Generation of weekly and monthly process control reports.
• Review and posting of journals in Sage and Pastel.
• Accruing for all expenses to be accrued and ensuring that the matching concept is adhered to.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Qualifications
The ideal candidate should be in possession of the following minimum qualifications:-
• Accounting Degree, equivalent and/or ACCA/ CIMA/CIS.
• Three years' experience in a manufacturing setup.
• Computer literate i.e. Excel, Word, power point.
• Proficiency in Sage Financial Accounting i.e. General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Receivables and Inventory modules Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Be a self-starter and able to work with minimum supervision.
• Possess strong analytical skills.
