AGRICULTURAL TRAINEE X 5
The above-mentioned position has arisen within TIMB, and applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the vacancies. The successful candidates will be based at TIMB Head Office.
REPORTS TO: TRAINING OFFICER
Duties and Responsibilities
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL BE TRAINED IN THE FOLLOWING:
• Tobacco leaf appraisal skills (classification).
• Decisively dealing with all cases of improper and suspicious tobacco presentation and deliveries in consultation with Senior Classifiers or Arbitrators on the sale.
• Positively identifying any storage pests and symptoms of such infestation on all bales of tobacco that are offered for sale as well as during any such inspections at tobacco factories, warehouses, tobacco re-handling facilities and during farm inspections to ensure separation of pest infested tobacco from the rest.
• Collection and collation of data on the sale and during any inspections or inspections or investigations for purposes of producing reports for overall tobacco sales statistics and future planning.
• Agricultural extension and communication.
• Agricultural Business Development and Market Information.
• Any other duties as guided by the team leaders.
Qualifications and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• A minimum qualification of a Diploma in Agriculture/ Equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Must be 30 years and below.

• Excellent report writing skills.
• High level of maturity and responsibility.
• Trustworthy.
• Detail oriented.
• A highly organized, task-oriented, and analytical character.
• Good interpersonal communication skills.
• Teamwork and cooperation.
