Job Description

A fast growing Engineering company in is in search of an Accounts Administrator. The ideal candidate must have a relevant Degree/HND in Accounting/ Finance . Applicants must have experience in dealing with ZIMRA issues and day to day accounting and financial administration issues. Previous accounting in a commercial sector experience preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities

To ensure that customers deposits/payments have been posted a daily basis
To investigate, report and resolve underbanks /overbanks
To review petty cash expenditure schedule daily and post expenses on a weekly basis
To continuously monitor expenditure and ensure that it does not exceed budget
To produce daily cash summary and daily/weekly finance reports as required
To ensure that credit notes and invoices are generated and processed on time.
To ensure ZIMRA issues are handled in time and returns on Tarms are done correctly and in time
Preparing financial statements
Utilize QuickBooks/Sage to prepare and maintain general ledger, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, billing, A/P, A/R, and revenue recognition.
Effect supplier payments locally and internationally
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, payroll, and various other areas.
Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance
Generate Payroll

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field,
2-3 years of corporate accounting experience minimum (post graduate)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Quickbooks/Sage is a plus.
Experience in Payroll Softwares a plus
